DEEP PURPLE’s ROGER GLOVER: ‘Sometime Next Year, There’ll Be Another Album’

DEEP PURPLE took part in a press conference prior to the band’s June 21 performance at Hellfest in Clisson, France.

Asked when fans can expect the follow-up to last year’s “Now What?!” album, DEEP PURPLE bassist Roger Glover said: “What happened with ‘Now What?!’ is we had a writing session in Spain for about a week or so, and then we had another writing session, and then we recorded the album. And it was eight years between albums. We can’t live that long to do another eight years, so… We had a writing session a couple of weeks ago in Portugal, and we’ve got about a dozen rough ideas and jams, some of which will make it. We’ll have another writing session later in the year and I think, probably, I don’t know when next year, but sometime next year, there’ll be another album.”

“Now What?!”, the 19th studio album from DEEP PURPLE, was released in April 2013 via earMUSIC, the Hamburg, Germany-based international rock label which is part of Edel Group.

The deluxe release of DEEP PURPLE‘s seminal live album “Made In Japan” was made available in multiple formats on May 19.

Mongrel is the Next Inductee to the Bullspike Radio Hall of Fame 2014 Class

We at Bullspike Radio are proud to announce that Massachusetts’ female fronted Mongrel is the next inductee to the Bullspike Radio Hall of Fame.

Mongrel first burst upon the scene in 2003 with a punk rock sound with an edge. They were immediately greeted by fans all over for their unique sound and dedication to the music. Like many local bands there has been line up changes and tweaks to their sound but their passion for the music never died.

They now are poised and ready for the big time with a line up that’s been together for a few years now. And the band has truly evolved and you can hear it it in their latest EP Evolution and their signing to Unable Records. They have fine tuned their sound and are reaching more audiences worldwide with it.

It is for their dedication and determination to continue to be one of the best bands in the world of rock and metal that we are inducting Mongrel into the Bullspike a Radio Hall of Fame Class of 2014.

HATE Recording New Album

Poland’s extreme metal leviathans HATE are currently in the studio recording their new album tentatively named Crusade:Zero. The successor to 2013’s critically acclaimed Solarflesh will contain 8 new tracks and a few bonus tracks as well. The sessions are taking place at Hertz Studio in Bialystok, Poland with the Wieslawski Brothers behind the console. The band’s main-man Atf Sinner comments:

“We have been carving this monster for months and finally we have brought it to the studio! Pavulon has already finished tracking drums, which sound fantastic thanks to the new recording room here. Powerful, authentic drum sound! Now we are getting down to recording guitars. Everything is going smooth so far. As I mentioned before, these new songs are a definition of what HATE is, and with all the experience we gained, we are getting it all on the next level now.”

The album is tentatively scheduled for a worldwide release in November this year via Napalm Records.  More news to come very soon!

JUDAS PRIEST: ‘Redeemer Of Souls’ New York City Signing Session Announced

JUDAS PRIEST members Rob Halford, Glenn Tipton and Richie Faulkner will sign copies of the band’s new album, “Redeemer Of Souls”, on Tuesday, July 8 at the Hard Rock Café in New York City at 6:30 p.m. Starting at 4 p.m. on July 8, be one of the first fans to purchase the album from FYE at the 43rd Street at Hard Rock TSQ and receive a wristband that will get you access to the signing. Please note, the band will only be signing copies of their new album.

“Redeemer Of Souls” will be released in North America on July 8 (pushed up a week from the originally announced July 15) via Epic Records. The CD’s title track was made available for purchase via iTunes and other digital service providers on April 29.

Speaking to the “Trunk Nation” show, which airs on SiriusXM‘s Hair Nation, JUDAS PRIEST singer Rob Halford stated about “Redeemer Of Souls”: “When we finished [the] ‘Epitaph’ [tour], we just got so buzzed from the fans and the reaction wherever we went. Just to put the ‘Epitaph’ tour together, which was we tried to put a song from every record into the show, and we were living in the life of JUDAS PRIEST, all those decades, in one show, night after night on the world trek, and I think that really did something to us eternally; as musicians, it should do when you tour. So we realized that this next record really had to be really strong, full of energy, because it’s relentless, the tracks are relentless. The energy that you feel off ‘Redeemer Of Souls’ is replicated in that direction time and time and time again.”

JUDAS PRIEST will embark on a U.S. in the fall. Support on the trek will come from Los Angeles glam-metal jokesters STEEL PANTHER.
